Mission & Founding Premise

In early 2004, OUTTriangle was established to centralize events and resources in the Triangle. This vision is a new model for collaboration that facilitates cooperation between businesses and organizations. It is OUTTriangle's goal to support a broad mission of economic strength, equality and education. We are a diverse community. Our strength lies in that diversity.

As Steve Falzarno of the Triangle Business & Professional Guild has said, "The Triangle area is one of the best kept secrets in the south." The secret is now out through OUTTriangle.com!

It has taken years of individual and community effort to bring this project together. We couldn't go further without thanking those who have had the vision and stamina to put many hours of work into collecting the vital information of this community. We give tremendous thanks to the following individuals and organizations:
  • JoEllen Mason for her years of networking and creating a business and resource directory
  • Cheryl Ann Welsh for her grassroots work here in NC
  • Jan Muller, Robert Mlodzik & Wayne Wilson of Triangle Community Works for their support in holding our vision
  • The members of the Triangle Business and Professional Guild for their economic commitment
  • Ian Palmquist and Ed Farthing of Equality NC for being our political voice
  • Jim Baxter at the Front Page for his 25 years of service to the Community
  • John Short at NC Pride for organizing a rockin' Pride festival every fall
